AkaiScan Medical Imaging

AKAISCAN

AkaiScan is a Medical Imaging Centre offers advanced diagnostic services.

64-SLICE CT SCAN

Our VCT light-speed 64-slice CT scanner is the fastest available and gives 3D colour images with greater definition than has been available in the past, and can therefore be used for cardiac studies including angiography, full body scanning (preventive screening) and virtual colonoscopy in addition to regular CT scanning.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
BRAINScreening for stroke or brain tumour, Vascular imaging, Surgical planning, CT Angiography
CARDIAC/VASCULARHeart CT, Coronary artery calcium scoring, Coronary Angiography
CRANIAL/FACIALFacial trauma, Sinus disease, Dental imaging, Jaw disorders

ABDOMENLiver disease, Kidney stones, Abdominal masses, Trauma
PELVISGynecological disorders, Prostate disease, Bladder abnormalities
SPINEBack pain, Disc disease, Spinal stenosis, Trauma
EXTREMITIESJoint disease, Fractures, Soft tissue masses, Sports injuries
ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to help diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body's internal organs, and to examine a baby in pregnant women and the brain and hips in infants.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
ABDOMINALLiver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, aorta
PELVICUterus, ovaries, prostate, bladder
OBSTETRICPregnancy monitoring, fetal development, gender determination
CARDIACHeart structure and function, valve assessment
VASCULARBlood flow in arteries and veins, DVT detection
BREASTBreast lumps, cysts, tissue evaluation
THYROIDThyroid nodules, goiter, inflammation
SCROTALTesticular pain, masses, varicocele
MUSCULOSKELETALJoint pain, tendon injuries, muscle tears
X-RAY

X-ray imaging is the most common form of medical imaging. It uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
CHESTLungs, heart, ribs, pneumonia, heart failure
ABDOMENBowel obstruction, kidney stones, free air
SPINEFractures, degenerative changes, scoliosis
EXTREMITIESFractures, arthritis, bone lesions
SKULLHead trauma, sinus disease, dental issues
ECG

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. Sensors attached to the skin are used to detect the electrical signals produced by your heart each time it beats.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
RESTING ECGStandard ECG while lying down, heart rhythm assessment
STRESS ECGECG during exercise, coronary artery disease detection
HOLTER MONITOR24-48 hour continuous monitoring, arrhythmia detection
ECHOCARDIOGRAM

An echocardiogram is a type of ultrasound scan that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the heart. It allows doctors to see the heart beating and pumping blood and provides information about the size and shape of the heart and how well the heart chambers and valves are working.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
TRANSTHORACICStandard echo through chest wall, heart structure
STRESS ECHOEcho during exercise, coronary artery disease
TRANSESOPHAGEALDetailed heart imaging through esophagus
MAMMOGRAM

A mammogram is an X-ray picture of the breast. Doctors use a mammogram to look for early signs of breast cancer. Regular mammograms are the best tests doctors have to find breast cancer early, sometimes up to three years before it can be felt.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
SCREENINGRoutine check for women without symptoms
DIAGNOSTICInvestigation of breast symptoms or abnormalities
BONE DENSITOMETRY

Bone densitometry, also called dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), is a test that measures bone density. It is used to diagnose osteoporosis and to assess the risk of fractures.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
CENTRAL DEXASpine and hip measurement, osteoporosis diagnosis
PERIPHERAL DEXAWrist, heel, or finger measurement, screening

We will continue to offer advanced diagnostic procedures, which will improve the quality of your health care.
